news and thoughts on and around the development of the iCite net

the iCite net blog two month anniversary

posted: Jun 30, 2003 2:57:36 PM

The first post of this blog was two months ago, on April 30, 2003. After two months, I am starting to get the hang of blogging everyday, which I think means, with each post, that I am less and less sure what I am doing, but more confident about doing it!

Being without much gainful employment for this recent period has had interesting affects on the development of the iCite net. It affords me free time and a free perspective to approach what I am doing. But, I also am often distracted by and busy with the task of looking for work, which I can't seem to enjoy as being more than tedious and enervating.

I have a friend who seems to love looking for jobs. He is a real marketing guy and I guess he is turned on by the thrill of making the sale and marketing himself. He is totally energized when he is looking for work. But, I am not so into it!

So, my time on coding the iCite net prototype has been a little erratic, but right now I am on a role again. I also am building out several new pages for this site listing the iCite net prototype features and their stability and release status.

For now, all the features are "in development", but in the future these pages will be helpful tracking the release of new features and whether they are considered stable yet. So, I will put those page online probably later this week.

Whatever can be said about all this, having this blog has helped introduce me to many people who are doing interesting things and who have already given me comments and ideas that I find very valuable. The "place" online where we are all meeting is one that I am totally into and want to contribute to maintain and grow. I am very into this!
