blojsom weblogs.com ping plugin

posted: Jun 18, 2003 2:28:00 PM

Yeah! There is going to be a blojsom weblogs.com ping plugin. Thanks David!

It would be great if this also worked with blo.gs, which actually uses the same weblogs.com XML-RPC ping interface.

In general, I would be interested to have access to whatever mechanism in blojsom fires when a new post is noticed. Maybe the class that gets triggered can be set in the blojsom configuration and/or there can be a base class to extend. This way, custom classes can be created for do various tasks when new posts show up.

At the moment, there is no magic trigger. The way the plugin works is to keep track of the latest entry's date. If the date of the latest entry is newer than the date tracked by the plugin, a ping is sent to weblogs.com. Simple enough.

Actually, blo.gs collects information from weblogs.com, so pinging weblogs.com should suffice for now.
