PlaNetwork conference, Augmented Social Networks presentation, part 1.9

posted: Jun 6, 2003 6:50:55 PM

Blogging the plaNetwork conference in San Francisco.

Ken is talking now about bringing together existing projects that are relevant to online identity, and working together to create open standards. Jan is talking about trusted code and protocols.

Trusted code requires governance. Talking about the Identity Commons as a place that would have collective ownership of that material.

Questions coming from the floor about progressive groups recognizing the social issues of linking with each other. Find ways to link people to work together, etc. Economic dimension. Shared values.

Answer: values are not unique to progressive groups. Steven sees this as a meta-value. Ken is saying it is a platform open for all points of view.

OK, going to break now. Back soon with part 2 of this presentation.
