Things seemed much simpler a couple days ago when I seemed to be part of a small segment of the universe talking (and talking and talking and talking) about David Weinberger's Metadata and Desire, which is a critique of some things that might be called the Semantic Web.

But, then, like a lot of people a lot smarter than I am (check out link! expert catalog by Liz Lawley), I also started talking about Clay Shirky's The Semantic Web, Syllogism, and Worldview.

Anyway, since I have been talking too much about this already, I thought I should declare my "last words" on the matter, and move on to some other topics. So, my last words are this:

Has anybody thought about how the role of "files" is affecting all of this? The medium is the message. This whole thing is about something that looks like a bunch of files and issues that arise with a bunch of files.
