We're moving to Seattle, hope to see Bay Area folks at LobbyCon and ?other? happenings over the next couple weeks

posted: Aug 11, 2004 12:29:50 PM

We, being Anastasia and I, are moving to Seattle around September 1 (Anastasia grew up there). We just decided to move about two weeks ago, went up to Seattle this past weekend and found a great place in the Wallingford area, and are moving out of our current place in Noe Valley at the end of the month.

So, this is my last week at my current day job. At least for the next few months, I will be joining Anastasia at Juxtaprose and working with her on a number of web projects. But, in general, I am now open and available to consider new partnerships / contracts / employment in the areas of IA, KM, CMS, collaboration tools, social software, and web development.

I hope to connect up with bunches of Bay Area blogites before I leave. I am going to go to the self-proclaimed LobbyCon #1 tomorrow (details, and see also: wiki). If you're thinking about maybe going to this, please do—hope to see you there!

And, if there are any other Bay Area blogish events happenings, please let me know. Or, let's have an SF bloggie dinner—we are due for one. Spread the word.

I also hope to make pilgrimages to the offices (and "offices") of Technorati, Socialtext, Broadband Mechanics, Blogger, Creative Commons, the Internet Archive, and other brilliant bebop blog-lovin' bitchin' bay area businesses. (Um, please invite me!)

Also, Anastasia and I are finally going to launch our joint blog, which will be at fineandfull.com (not up as of this post time). Our initial posts will be a journal / photoblog of our move from San Francisco to Seattle.

Finally, I'm also looking forward to meeting some Seattle blogites. Leave me a link in a comment if you're in Seattle and blogging (or post-blogging in ways perhaps related to the iCite net)—at this point, I mostly have the Seattle Metroblog as a starting point.

Hope to see bunches of you Bay Area folks over the next couple weeks, and meet you Seattle folks soon.

I had the strangest sense of disassociation when this post came up in my news reader. I thought, "when did I write this?"

For I too am moving to Seattle, right at the beginning of September. I'm also availabe to "consider new partnerships / contracts / employment in the areas of IA, KM, CMS, collaboration tools, social software, and web development." We should meet, etc.

My pal Mike has a nice little blog running out of Seattle. He's connected to a fair number of Seattle folk.

Wow, great coincidence Chris. Look forward to meeting up in Seattle. We should form the Northwest purple* alliance or something!

Greetings from the emerging Seattle HiveMind!

Seattle is in the process of populating a wiki for itself: http://seattlewiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

I'm personally excited in the types of technologies you're interested in, and I know a lot of other people in the area are interested as well. I haven't seen much organizing between ourselves, but it's bound to happen. Already, in SeaPig (Seattle Python Interest Group http://www.seapig.org/moin.cgi/ ) we're talking about hooking up with other interest groups and hacking out code with them.

Have fun in Seattle! And don't be sleepless.

Check out the Seattle blogs site at http://seablogs.hellbent.org , lots of Seattle based blogs are listed there and trackback to there.

I posted a survival guide for Dave Winer a while back that may be appropriate for you, although I'm breaking rule #2 to attend the eastside blogger meetup tonight.
