PlaNetwork conference, ManyOne's Richard Perl

Blogging the PlaNetwork conference in San Francisco.

Talking about the governance structure of ManyOne.

They have the ManyOne foundation, a Canadian non-profit corporation. Which owns ManyOne inc, the for profit company based in the US. The ManyOne foundation aligns itself to the Earth Charter. Their board has many people like Jane Goodall, Helen Caldicut, Ashok Kholsa, and other stewards that are recognized throughout the world.

Members of ManyOne who make a personal committment to the Earth Charter will get to recommend 1/3 of the board members. The existing board members will select the other 1/3. Partners (stewards) will select the final 1/3.

Richard goes on to further describe the whole structure by which the ManyOne Foundation ends up owning 100% of this. (My computer crashed a minute ago, and I lost my description of the details.) People give him a standing ovation.

Joe says a few more things about their schedule. Another standing ovation. Presentation over.
