news and thoughts on and around the development
of the iCite net

In my work right now on the iCite net prototype, I have been experimenting with a number of XML tools, and also a number of simple Java persistence (or very simple embedded database) mechanisms. I am totally in the middle of things right now, and will have to report more later on what ended up being what.
But, Russell Beattie is blogging about his project and what he has been up to, and what he is saying sounds like he is wrestling with concerns similar to mine. Russ' extended post today, The XAO of Pooh: XML Access Objects as a New Pattern for Web Development, says a lot of interesting things about this.
