RDF and XML like peanut butter and chocolate (or vice versa)

posted: Aug 7, 2003 2:07:58 PM

Some interesting discussions bopping around on namespace use in RSS 2 and RDF and its relationship to XML (and some ideas about RDF being used in RSS 2). Shelley Powers' post, You have your peanut butter in my chocolate, on her Practical RDF blog is, I think, the best place to start and stay tuned.

Dan Brickley has left a number of interesting comments on Shelley's post and is really making an interesting effort to figure out some important things about how metadata can be used in XML documents like RSS. I am learning a lot more about RDF through this discussion.

title: Are RSS and Atom/N/Echo/Pie formats suffering too tightly coupled MVC?

RSS-type formats are fine, except many people want to do a lot more with them than what they were designed to be fine for. People want to embed elaborate metadata in RSS-type formats, and are struggling to find a clean way to do this.
