Today and tomorrow, I am at the KMWorld and Intranets (and Content Management) conference in Santa Clara. So far, most everyone I have walked past is talking about categorizing and linking information, taxonomies, metadata, social networks, and search engines of varying degrees of "intelligence". Whoa! what planet is this?

This conference is connected with the Streaming Media conference, and the two conferences' vendor exhibitions are in adjoining rooms—so, I have been checking out both. All the exhibitors are very enterprise corporation oriented.

I can't seem to get a Wi-Fi connection here in the main presentation room, and (literally) everyone else in the room seems to be handwritting notes. Hm, is this maybe indicative of where corporate KM is really at in terms of connectivity and content capture?
