Very nice piece from Ken MacLeod, Is a Feed the right place for your Data? (via Sam Ruby's Freed from syndication).
Ken's points definitely fit in with two of my regular themes here:
1) we should look to keep the XML-formatted data / content that appears in a feed available directly via URL (ideally, permalink) linked from a site
2) we should look to design things so that feed providers and feed readers can negotiate (e.g., choose to serve / follow links) to more diverse data / content formats than what is currently available in RSS-type feeds, rather than trying to stuff everything into a single data / content format
