Interesting new project launched, the XFN (XHTML Friends Network), which offers a pithy way to indicate human relationships using hyperlinks. Definitely check it out.

XFN is created by the Global Multimedia Protocols Group, whose founders include Tantek Çelik (note: cool site). I met Tantek last month (at the Joi Ito party) and got to suspecting he was up to cool things above and beyond his day job, which is something like being the guy responsible for pushing forward the implementation of CSS standards in Internet Explorer!!

I also saw that Marc Canter posted about Comparing FOAF and XFN which basically just responds to a post on Robert Scoble's Scobleizer blog (which seems to need some serious CSS help to be readable outside of IE—maybe Tantek can help?).
