This is in the category of topics I would like to learn more about: the Inversion of Control pattern. Jicarilla is a new Java IoC container framework, which looks interesting. Leo Simons, Jicarilla's creator, also has written some essays: The Principle Of Too Much Magic and JavaBean Components Considered Evil, both of which also look interesting.
