SourceForge review

posted: Mar 10, 2004 7:59:51 PM

Infoworld has a product review of the new enterprise edition of SourceForge, Closing the collaboration gap. They highlight a couple positive things about the IA / UI, which parts of the IA / UI are the ones I helped design in late 2002 / early 2003. (Note: I am not sure if what is in this release is the same as what I worked on, or a totally new design: it sounds the same though.)

Similarly, SourceForge's project-specific home page delivers current project news with rudimentary graphics of recent project activity. Although users cannot drill through to underlying data, the well-defined interface does help them become productive without extensive training.

Hm, the interface was supposed to allow drill-down—wonder why that didn't get implemented? Anyway, it was a fun project for me to work on and it was a good experience in one peculiar niche of collaborative software design.
