news and thoughts on and around the development
of the iCite net

I thought I'd enter the Technorati 2005 New Year's Resolution Reality Show Countdown Challenge. But, I don't think I'm going to win with my meager resolutions here:
Resolutions for 2005:
Then, if that doesn't result in total ridicule and shame, or, worse, complete disinterest:
Then, if all that goes OK, I hope I'll have some momentum to roll into releasing other projects of the iCite net, including the iPlayroogelati sub-project.
Reflection on 2004:
This past year has been an interesting one for my work on the iCite net. I had basically vowed to release everything in 2003, and by about April 2004, I needed to acknowledge that something had gone seriously wrong in my development efforts (which is totally my fault, but I feel better blaming it on XML a lot of the time).
So, in April, I somewhat vaguely threw in the towel on this project. And, then, being in what I liked to call "failure mode" actually helped me relax and start working again.
Also, a couple months ago, Lion Kimbro gave me a good pep talk about doing smaller / sub projects rather than trying to make the whole enchilada in one stroke, which really helped me move forward again on what has become this code-named kickitch project (coming to a theatre near you in 2005). So, I feel like Lion deserves my special thanks for this—thanks Lion!
2004: goodbye—we hardly knew ya!
Everyone: have a great New Year!!
