I just realized that the blojsom plugin for truncating blog posts (which I use in my brief content RSS feed), the show me more plugin, works a little differently than I thought.
This may affect how you are receiving my RSS feed, if you are subscribed to the brief content version. If you see long posts all of a sudden, please note that this is fixed and will go back to being post excerpts.
Previously, this plugin only took a parameter of a number of characters down to which to truncate the entry. Now it also takes a string that can be used to tag the truncation point.
I mistakenly thought that this meant that, if the tag is present, truncate to that point; otherwise truncate to the number of characters.
What it actually means is: if the tag is not specified, truncate down to the number of characters. If it is specified, if the tag is present in a post, truncate to that point; if it is not present, don't truncate at all.
I am fine with this functionality—I think it is the right way to do it and I will always use the tag method when I need to truncate posts. But, this means that several of the posts currently in my brief content newsfeed, which are not tagged, now no longer are truncated. And, a couple of those posts are really long.
So, if you suddenly have a really long post from me in your RSS aggregator, sorry! These will go away.
Actually, I decided to post this especially just to push the ginormous post I wrote on Not for busy-ness first software out of the current RSS feed!
