I forgot to mention that, at my office last Friday, I won the costume contest on Halloween, "Creepiest Costume". Pictures appeared today on the company intranet, and I cropped one down to just myself here (the rest of the picture included a pirate lady slaying me with a sword, the tip of which remains in the image).
San Francisco in general, and this building in particular, is gonzo about Halloween. I would estimate that we had several thousand people here on Friday in costume. We also had about ten different floors converted into haunted houses ranging from carnival to pirate to alien themes (ours was the graveyard of dead technology).
There is no way to tell without seeing it in person, but the chest / ribcage area of my costume has dripping blood. So, during the contest, when I went up in front of the crowd, I got the blood streaming in realtime, and elicited several large-scale collective groans. I think the response was more a gross-out than a creep-out, but I guess it made an impression ;-)
