We at the Seattle weblog meetup

posted: Dec 16, 2004 9:19:19 PM

Last night was the Seattle weblog meetup get together, and Anastasia and I were there. Anita Rowland has the list of attendees, and Jon of Smart Brother has posted his event pictures (which include this one with Anastasia and me leaning against the window, way in the back).

When we first got there, we had a nice conversation with Robert Scoble while we were waiting in line for food (note: the food was awful!!), and Anita is a gracious host. But, the whole setting of the event made it difficult to navigate around and meet people, who were mostly focused around a single peninsula of tables. We were outside of that peninsula, adrift at sea...

So, the poor navigation, combined with the awful food, left us kind-of bumming out. And, as the picture perhaps gives away, we spent a lot of our time at the event figuring out where we were going to go to chill and rid ourselves of evil sandwich tastes.

(Solution: we came home, put on Buffy season 7 disc 1 DVD, and had a nice desert.)

Looking at Anita's list, I see there are a lot of folks that I would like to meet and would have enjoyed meeting and talking with last night. Perhaps, another time and place, then.

show up at the january one and we'll make amends. these tables get smushed together too soon and if you get there early, as I often do (bus schedule) you get stuck in the middle - which can be as bad as being adrift at sea.

Thanks for the encouragement, Chas!
