Last year when I wrote my post asking, What is the ubiquitously deployable, hip, programming language?, I was hoping someone would give the answer that I was secretly looking for: Javascript. But, based on the response I got to that post—and especially in private conversations on the topic where I actually suggested that I wanted to program ... in ... javascript, I felt pretty discouraged.

Anyway, I am just amazed (and gloating a little) at all the stuff happening out there around Javascript and the whole "AJAX" craze. Lots of great sites and code being released—I've been meaning to post about this for a while. But, just now, seeing this Javascript Jabber client, JWChat, finally crossed me over (via Ajaxian blog)!
