When I update my site, I (manually) ping blo.gs. After doing that today, I saw a referrer in my log from the mod-pubsub.org domain, followed it and learned more about mod_pubsub and blogchatter.

(There is a mod_pubsub blog too, and I see there is mention here of their recent connection to blo.gs.)

I am curious if any prevalence of mod_pubsub might widely change the way RSS and RSS-type syndication is done. Blogchatter is certainly neat.

With iCites, I am working on a simple publish and subscribe protocol (using HTTP POST or XML-RPC/SOAP) for notification of updates and changes between iCites. I will be curious, once I look more into mod_pubsub, if it will change my thinking about how to do this.
