news and thoughts on and around the development
of the iCite net

Today is the two year anniversary of the this blog, which is also what I consider the official start date of the iCite net project. This anniversary is a good one—I'm celebrating! I'll have more details tomorrow (but, no, it's not the big announcement about kickitch I've been hinting at).
Looking back, I started the iCite net project with this first post about. . . the history of the iCite net. Yes, that's right, even the beginning of this thing came with a big complicated history! (Call it past-life karma ;-)
And, as complicated beginnings sometimes beget, the iCite net project's first anniversary was a mess. As I moved on beyond year one, I began to commonly refer to this project as being in "failure mode".
I've already reflected back over 2004 in my 2005 New Year's resolutions, but now, a few months later, I can add that I've ultimately found it pretty useful to work forward from the point of failure—deciding that it's worth getting over it and starting again, rather than just giving up.
Anyway, I'm happy about how things are going now on the iCite net project, and I'll have some specific good news about that tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who reads this blog and especially to everyone who has encouraged me or otherwise been positive towards me and my presence here online.
